Cekiverse's World Lore:
Canon Adjustments & Personal Interpretations
FFXIV's lore is vast and incredibly detailed, but I wanted to tweak or reinterpret certain elements that make better sense to me. The following are deliberate modifications to established canon made specifically for my characters development and narrative. These changes exist within my personal roleplay interpretation, your mileage may vary, and that's totally fine!A Quick Note on Compatibility:
Ceki is largely canon-compliant with just a few small tweaks here and there that I feel fit better than the official lore. If your character's interpretation veers significantly from canon, we might run into some confusion or friction IC, and that's not necessarily a bad thing! Conflicting perspectives can create interesting RP. However, if your lore is vastly different from the established world, our characters might just not vibe together, and that's okay too. We can absolutely do one-off RP for fun, but it'll likely be considered AU at that point and won't be part of Ceki's official timeline.
Jobs & Job Stones
In my interpretation, jobs are simply learned skills, like professions or martial disciplines in real life. If you've trained with the weapon and know the techniques, you can practice that job. Want to switch from fists to a greatsword? Go for it, as long as you've put in the work to learn.Job stones, however, are extremely rare and only function for individuals with exceptional magical talent or the Warrior of Light. For everyone else, mastery comes from training, discipline, and experience.
The Twelve
The Twelve's history unfolds exactly as it does in canon, up until their deaths/departure/transformation. In my interpretation, they didn't actually leave or fade away. They're still around, they just don't interfere with the Source much anymore. They'll occasionally step in to offer a blessing, buff a devoted follower, or provide guidance in moments of great need, but due to everything that happened to them, they've decided to take a major step back from active involvement in mortal affairs.
The Arcadion
The Arcadion's storyline progressed exactly as it does in canon, soul manipulation, the Warrior of Light's involvement, all of it. However, after the WoL resolved the crisis and moved on, the Arcadion pivoted into pure performance entertainment, no more actual danger, just larger-than-life WWE-style matches with tech-enhanced gear, choreography, and theatrical spectacle. The crowds still roar, the fighters still train hard, but now it's all showmanship and engineering instead of literal soul-powered combat.
The Warrior of Light & The Echo
In my interpretation, the Warrior of Light exists and is progressing through the MSQ as canon dictates, they're out there saving the world, working with the Scions, all of it. However, Ceki would never realistically cross paths with them unless through extreme luck (or unluck, depending on perspective). She could've been in the same bar as the WoL at some point and simply not known or cared, they're just another adventurer to her.For RP Compatibility:
I have an established WoL in the "Ceki-verse," and since my interpretation (and as far as I am aware canon lore) state there's only one Warrior of Light per shard, having two can get... complicated. That said, I'm absolutely willing to bend to make RP work! If your character is the WoL in their personal story, here are some approaches we can take:Multiple WoLs - Perhaps a shard variant of the WoL (your oc) made it to this Shard/Source, or we simply handwave it for story purposes. Your WoL, mine, and Ceki can coexist in the world just fine.Echo-Blessed Adventurer - Alternatively, if you're open to it, we could frame your character as an exceptionally skilled adventurer who possesses the Echo and has accomplished incredible feats, possibly even working alongside the Scions, if your character did work with them, all this without being the capital-W-capital-L Warrior of Light. This keeps your entire backstory and achievements intact while fitting more neatly into the lore for the "Ceki-verse".Both options work great for me! whatever makes you most comfortable with your character!
Linkpearls & Tomestones
Linkpearls function as they do in canon, they're communication devices that can be jammed, eavesdropped on, or potentially tracked. While they're not necessarily rare, due to how they are made they're obscenely expensive for someone of a lower economic background.Tomestone for communication.
In my lore interpretation, thanks to the emotes given to us, tomestones aren't just Allagan data storage devices, some have been reverse-engineered to be copied or repurposed into secure communication tools that function like modern smartphones. They're more secure than linkpearls (harder to jam or eavesdrop), more versatile, and have become a newer, fancier alternative for those who can get their hands on working models. Think of it as Eorzea's version of upgrading from a walkie-talkie to a cell phone. Not everyone has one, and they're still somewhat of a super expensive luxury item, but they're becoming more common in places like Solution Nine and among tech-savvy circles.
Tomestone Applications & Functionality
While tomestones function as communication devices similar to modern smartphones, their app ecosystem is extremely limited compared to real-world technology.Standard Features:
-Text messaging and voice calls (more secure than linkpearls)
-A single social media platform similar to Facebook (though it's primarily a Solution Nine thing that doesn't work well outside the dome as it becomes buggy and barely functional,)
-A handful of simple games and utility apps
-Government/Grand Company apps for hunting logs, bounty boards, and official business
-Emergency broadcast system for city-state alerts and warningsSolution Nine Exclusive:
If you're physically in Solution Nine, you can download some TV/video streaming apps that work within the dome's network (since they have TV's with channels and stuff in main canon lore.) Once you leave, those apps typically stop functioning or have terrible connectivity. The Reality:
There isn't nearly the app variety or ecosystem we have in real life. No endless scroll of options, no app stores bursting with choices. Tomestones are practical communication and data storage tools first and foremost, the "smartphone" features are a nice bonus, but severely limited by the technology's infancy and the fact that it's reverse-engineered Allagan tech that people are still figuring out how to properly utilize.
Most people just use their tomestones as a nicer, easier, no-need-for-an-earring alternative to linkpearls. Anything fancier is either a Solution Nine exclusive or simply doesn't exist yet.
The Shards & Reflections
In my interpretation, knowledge about shards, reflections, and the nature of the sundered world is extremely limited to those directly involved with the Scions and the Warrior of Light's inner circle. The average citizen of Eorzen has no idea that other dimensions exist, that the world was sundered, or what a "Rejoining" even means.Umbral Calamities are known historical events that people learn about, but the general public doesn't understand the multidimensional mechanics behind them. That's classified Scion business. The one exception is the Void, most people have at least heard of it. Some scholars and well-read folks might believe/know it's another dimension entirely, while others treat it more like a religious concept: "Hell" to the Twelve's "Heaven." Voidsent are known to exist (hard to deny when they occasionally show up to mess with things), but what the Void actually is remains a matter of debate and folklore for common folk. Even well-traveled adventurers would have no reason to know the true nature of shards and reflections unless they were directly told by someone in the know.
The Moon & Cosmic Exploration
In my interpretation, the general population has no idea what the moon actually is. To common folk like Ceki, it's just the moon, a celestial body in the sky, nothing more. They don't know it's a massive starship/station created by Hydaelyn and maintained by the Loporrits, and they certainly don't know it's habitable or being used as a staging ground for cosmic exploration.Knowledge of the moon's true nature, the Loporrits, and the Cosmic Exploration project (including expeditions to Phaenna, Oizys, and beyond) is restricted to those directly involved, primarily the Warrior of Light's circle, the Scions, Garlond Ironworks personnel, and those specifically recruited for the initiative. It's not public knowledge, and there's no reason the average citizen would ever learn about it unless they were brought into the fold.So if your character casually mentions "Oh yeah, I've been to the moon" or talks about alien worlds and Voyager ruins, Ceki's going to look at you like you've lost your damn mind, because in her world, that stuff simply isn't known to exist.
A Note on Public Knowledge vs. "In the Know"
You might notice a pattern here: a lot of world-shaking information in my lore interpretations is kept from the general public. This isn't an arbitrary me doing hand wavy shit, it's based on how information would realistically be handled in the real world.
If the average citizen knew that, and lets use what I have already spoke about, if most knew:-The world was sundered into multiple dimensions
-Multiple apocalyptic events (Rejoinings) have already happened
-There's a secret moon base and humanity is exploring alien planets
-Reality itself is held together by a chosen hero and a small organization...there would be mass panic, riots, existential crises, and societal collapse. Governments, the Scions, and those "in the know" have every reason to keep this information classified. So when I say "common folk don't know about X," I'm basing that on the assumption that world leaders and organizations would absolutely keep that shit under wraps, just like they would (and do) in real life.Ceki is street-smart and well-traveled, but she's not in the room where it happens. She knows what any other average adventurer might know, and a lot of this cosmic-level stuff simply isn't that. Please Note: Most of these interpretations are fairly set in stone, as I've learned them through playing the game, friends who've completed the content, and general lore knowledge. However, all of these are subject to change if I learn something new or discover my understanding was off.
The Final Days & Endwalker Events
In my interpretation, the events of the Final Days (the sky turning red, people transforming into blasphemies, the end of the world nearly happening) did occur publicly and were witnessed by people across Etheirys. However, in the aftermath, there was an aggressive and coordinated effort by governments, the Scions, and other powers-that-be to cover it up, downplay it, or reframe it as something less apocalyptic.
Some people remember it. Some were told it was mass hysteria, aetheric anomalies, or isolated incidents. Others have chosen to forget or rationalize what they saw because the alternative is too terrifying to process. The official story is murky at best, and most common folk don't have a clear understanding of what actually happened or why.OOC Note: I (the writer/roleplayer) have not personally completed the Endwalker MSQ yet on my main story character, so even if the MSQ explicitly contradicts this interpretation, I'm sticking with this version for Ceki's world until I've experienced it myself. This interpretation is subject to change over time as I progress through the story and gain a fuller understanding of the events.
Tural & Solution Nine AccessTural (The New World):
As in lore, Traveling to Tural is accessible to anyone willing to make the journey across the ocean. Boat travel is the cheaper option, long, potentially uncomfortable, but affordable for those on a budget. Airships fitted for long-distance oceanic travel are faster and more comfortable, but significantly more expensive.Solution Nine:
Solution Nine is a different story. While it's physically connected to Tural now, access isn't as simple as walking in. You have to apply for entry and sign extensive waivers acknowledging that "if something happens, that's on you." The paperwork is extensive and the approval process can take a very long time and most are denied unless they have family inside the dome. Why? Because the region is vastly different from anything on the Source. As we know Solution Nine sits within a massive dome, powered by electrope technology that doesn't exist anywhere else. And that the entire area of Heritage Found, right outside is split dramatically, The division between outside the dome and inside is stark, Inside is perpetually shrouded in thick thunderclouds with purple lightning crackling through the sky day and night, blotting out the sun entirely. It's very clear something unprecedented is happening there, which is why authorities are so strict about who enters and what they sign before doing so. As most people who visit Solution Nine and actually talk to residents end up learning about other shards and the city's interdimensional origins, it's kind of hard not to when the environment itself is split between two worlds and the locals casually mention where they're from and its history. Whether visitors believe it or treat it as wild stories is entirely up to the individual.Ceki, for her part, is blissfully oblivious to the deeper implications. She either didn't ask about it, wasn't paying attention when someone explained, or just filed it away under "weird tech city with crazy weather" and moved on with her life. She knows it's different, she just doesn't care why.
Thank you for understanding my slight lore changes, onto Ceki's backstory!

SFW Backstory

Her vibrant purple hair, streaked with lighter highlights, is more than just a stylistic choice, it’s a declaration of her individuality and defiance. She refused to fade into the shadows like so many others in her circumstances. Her tattoos, sprawling across her arms and legs in intricate designs and abstract tribal patterns, serve as a living chronicle of her struggles, triumphs, and the unbreakable spirit that carried her through the harshest times.Despite her rough edges, Ceki has a fiercely protective side, especially for the downtrodden and those she considers family. Her black leather jacket and pants, paired with a black lace bra, are her signature look, worn both as armor in battle and as a statement of her confidence. On quieter days, she favors street-style outfits that prioritize freedom and movement, blending function with her unmistakable flair. As a lesbian, Ceki has navigated her share of heartbreaks, her guarded nature making it difficult to trust fully. Her life on the streets taught her that love, like a dagger, could be both a weapon and a wound. Still, she holds onto hope that someone will see beyond her tough exterior to the woman beneath. Now, Ceki works as a freelance fighter, bodyguard for women, and adventurer, taking on jobs that let her protect others while carving out her place in the world. Her dream is to create a haven for misfits like herself, those who refuse to conform, who wear their scars and ink as badges of honor, and who fight for their right to exist unapologetically.

The Arcadion

By the time she realized how much of the Arcadion was staged, she was already hooked. The training was real, the discipline was real, and the community at Yaana's gym felt like home. Ceki's always been a street fighter at heart, close quarters brawling, that's her bread and butter. But the Arcadion opened up something different. Ceki learned to fight like a Dark Knight by using reinforced armor, weighted frames, and shock dampeners that let her take hits that should have dropped her. She learned to fight like a Reaper through precision tools, retractable blades, and grim, theatrical weaponry designed to look like death because that was what the Arcadion sold. It gave her new ways to move, new challenges to master.None of it was Magic. None of it was a destiny. Just engineering, endurance, and a woman chasing a fantasy that told even her non-magic self could be reshaped into strength. Now, when Ceki watches Arcadion fights, she sees the truth behind them. The choreography. The illusion. The parts meant to make the crowd scream. And still, her pulse jumps when the lights flare and the chants rise. She’s addicted, but not blindly anymore. She’s part of the spectacle now, standing inside it instead of being swallowed whole. These days she switches between styles depending on the match or her mood. Monk when she wants to feel like herself, Machinist, Dark Tech Knight or Tech Reaper when she wants to put on a show. It's all part of the craft, and honestly? She enjoys every bit of it.
